Have you ever wondered what factors matter to your doctors when they are diagnosing which type of brain tumour you have? Or what things they think are important when deciding which treatment option might be best for you? How do they decide whether a treatment is effective, or what to do if the tumour returns?

In this Q&A Webinar, Prof Mark Rosenthal (Medical Oncologist) poses a series of ‘what matters’ questions to a panel of brain tumour experts including Prof Lindy Jeffree (Neurosurgeon), Dr Joe Sia (Radiation Oncologist) and Dr Ross Jennens (Medical Oncologist), to shed light on ‘what matters’ to your doctors when trying to provide the best treatment options for your brain tumour.

About our panel members:

  • Professor Mark Rosenthal: Professor Rosenthal is a Specialist Medical Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Medical and Trials Lead for Neuro-oncology, and Director of the Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit. Prof Rosenthal is also part of the Brain Tumours Online team.
  • Professor Lindy Jeffree: Professor Jeffree is a full-time public hospital neurosurgeon and Director of Neurosurgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. She is a general neurosurgeon with particular expertise and interest in neuro-oncology, epilepsy and trauma.
  • Dr Ross Jennens: Dr Jennens is a Medical Oncologist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and he also works in private practice at Epworth Healthcare where he is the Director of Oncology clinical trials.
  • Dr Joe Sia: Dr Sia is a Specialist Radiation Oncologist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, focusing on the treatment of brain and intracranial tumours. He did his medical training in New Zealand and radiation oncology training in Australia and holds a laboratory-based PhD in tumour immunology from the University of Melbourne.
