In this webinar you will hear from some of Victoria’s top neurosurgeons, including Prof Kate Drummond AM (Head of Neurosurgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital) and Associate Professor Andrew Davidson (Deputy Director of Surgical Services at Royal Melbourne Hospital). They explain the role of neurosurgery in the treatment of brain tumours, answer frequently asked questions they hear from their patients including questions about awake craniotomy surgery, and also answered questions submitted by participants before and during the webinar. 

Topics included: how neurosurgical techniques and outcomes have improved over the last 15 years, general information about different types of neurosurgery and in what scenarios the different types might be used, whether neurosurgeons use robotics or AI, top tips for carers when someone you are caring for is recovering from a brain surgery, what the awake craniotomy experience is like and why you might have an ‘awake’ craniotomy, how soon after surgery you can wash or dye your hair, and more.
