In this webinar you will hear from two of Victoria’s top neurosurgeons, Prof Kate Drummond AM (Head of Neurosurgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital) and Associate Professor Andrew Davidson (Deputy Director of Surgical Services at Royal Melbourne Hospital), along with Dr Neda Haghighi, an experienced Radiation Oncologist from Peter Mac Cancer Centre who has a special interest in benign brain tumours. They will talk about meningiomas and their treatment, what’s new on the horizon from research and clinical trials, and also answer questions from participants.

About the speakers: 

  • Prof Kate Drummond AM, the Head of Neurosurgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the project lead on the Brain Tumours Online project. 
  • A/Prof Andrew Davidson, the Deputy Director of Surgical Services at Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the neurosurgical lead for the Victorian Gamma Knife Centre at Peter Mac. 
  • Dr. Neda Haghighi is a Radiation Oncologist who specialises in the management and treatment of brain and spinal tumours. She is the clinical lead of the Victorian Gamma Knife service and the tumour stream lead for neuro-oncology unit at Peter Maccallum Cancer Centre. Dr Haghighi chairs the Stereotactic Interest Group of Australasia (SIGA). She is a member of the Trans Tasmanian Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO) and International Society of Radiosurgery (ISRS). Dr. Haghighi’s is the principal investigator and co-investigator on several national and international clinical trials relating benign and malignant tumours of the brain. Her main clinical interests include radiosurgery for the treatment of benign skull base conditions as well as functional neurological disorders
